Decide who can see it
Put it behind a paywall. In a paid post, only the free part is open — keep the part that matters in the paid section. See How to Create a Paid Post.
Use a private channel. It only opens to people you approve, and it stays out of search and recommendations. See Creating a Channel.
Turn on Follow to unlock on a free post, so the full text opens only to people who follow you.
If someone takes your work
Report it. The three dots on any post have Report, and so does the menu in a chat. Tell us what happened and we'll look at it.
For a copyright claim, use the formal route. Our DMCA & IP Takedown policy — in Legal documents and in your settings under Permissions — is the procedure for having infringing material removed, and it's what you'll need if the matter goes further. Formal notices go to our designated DMCA agent at [email protected]; the policy lists what a notice must include.
Keep your original files. High-quality originals are what establish that the work is yours.
A note on reposts
Deleting a post doesn't remove reposts of it — they stay as a placeholder saying the post was deleted. Worth knowing before you count on deletion to undo something.
