How to Report Copyright Infringement

If someone has published your work on Sociala without permission, you can ask us to remove it. You don't need a Sociala account to do this.

How to send a claim

Write to us the usual way — through the chat on this help center, or by email to [email protected] — and we'll pass it to our legal team the same day. Formal DMCA notices go to our designated DMCA agent at [email protected]. If your claim is long or comes with documents, email it to [email protected] with everything attached and "copyright / DMCA notice" in the subject.

What to include

  • Your signature (a typed full name is fine in an email).

  • A description of the original work you own.

  • Links to the content on Sociala that you believe infringes your rights, and where it is (the post, profile, channel or Smartlist).

  • Your name, address, phone number and email.

  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.

  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner.

What happens next

We confirm that your claim has been received the same day and pass it to our legal team, who handle it under our DMCA & IP Takedown policy. They'll contact you about next steps. We may share your notice, including your contact details, with the user whose content it concerns.

The full procedure is in the DMCA & IP Takedown policy — you'll find the link in Legal documents.

Not sure it's a copyright matter?

If the content breaks our rules in another way — harassment, spam, something prohibited — use Report instead. See How to Report Something.
