What Happens When You Block a User on Sociala

Once you block someone:

  • All connections between you are removed — the friendship, and any follows in either direction. If there weren't any, nothing changes and your counts stay as they were.

  • Your profile is hidden from them. It doesn't appear in their search, and opening it by link shows that they don't have access.

  • They can't send you direct messages, and your new posts no longer appear in their feed.

  • They aren't notified.

What stays visible

Your posts themselves are still public: they can be found in search and opened by link, and the blocked person can like them or buy a paid post. If that's a problem — for example, if someone is harassing you — report them.

This part is permanent

Unblocking someone later lets them reach you again, but it doesn't restore anything that was removed. The friendship is gone, the follows are gone, and if you want them back you both start over.

Reporting does the same

When you report someone, they're blocked as part of it. The effects above apply just the same.

Past interactions stay

Blocking doesn't delete what already happened — comments, reactions and messages from before remain, and may still be visible to other people.
