Blocking is the strongest thing you can do to stop someone reaching you. It's worth knowing what it does before you use it.
How to block someone
From their profile. Open their profile, click the three dots in the top corner and choose Block.
From a conversation. Open the chat, click the three dots in its top right corner and choose Block.
You'll find Block in the Connections lists too, in the menu beside a person's name.
What happens
Your connections are removed, both ways. If you were friends, you aren't any more; if either of you followed the other, that goes too.
The blocked person can't interact with your content or send you messages.
They aren't told that you blocked them.
Unblocking later doesn't bring the connections back. You'd both be starting from nothing.
Reporting instead
If the person broke the rules rather than simply bothering you, use Report — it's in the same menu, and it tells us what happened. Reporting also blocks the person, so you don't need to do both.
