A channel is just a tool, and you can use it any way you like: run a course in one, build a community in another, or use it as a broadcast. What you decide is what it becomes.
Start a channel
Click Create in the left menu and choose New channel — or open Channels and click + Channel.
Fill in the basics
Channel name and Channel nickname — you can change each one once every 30 days, so pick something you'll want to keep. The nickname uses Latin letters, numbers, dots and underscores, is 6 to 30 characters long, and contains exactly one dot or underscore, not at the start or end.
Channel categories — pick from one to three. They help the right people find you.
Bio — optional, up to 300 characters. A line about what the channel is for.
Choose the type
This is the one decision you can't undo later, so take a moment with it.
Free — Public. Anyone can join without your approval, and the channel can be found in search and shown on your profile.
Free — Private. People join only after you approve them. A private channel stays out of search and recommendations, so the way in is a direct link from you.
Paid — One-time payment. A single charge buys access for a set period.
Paid — Subscription. A recurring payment that renews until the subscriber cancels.
Everything else — images, bio, rules, price, trial — you can change afterwards.
Set up a subscription channel
If you pick Subscription, three more blocks appear right in the form:
Subscription plans — turn on any of Week, Month, 3 months, 6 months and Year, and set a price for each. Use the Fees calculator to see what reaches you.
Free trial — optional. Pick a plan and the number of days newcomers get for free. See Creating a Paid Channel with a Free Trial.
Post visibility limit — how many recent posts new subscribers can open: 10, 50, 100 or All. See Post Visibility Limits in Paid Channels.
For public and paid channels, keep Show channel in my profile on if you want visitors to find the channel from your profile. Private channels don't have this option — they aren't shown publicly at all.
Click Create, and the channel is live. Your first post will be an intro post — it stays visible to everyone and tells visitors what they'd get inside.
