Deletion is blocked by two things, and the platform checks them in order.
1. You still have channels
If you've created any channels, deletion stops and you're shown a notice saying you have active channels. Channels aren't removed for you — write to us at [email protected] and we'll help you close them.
2. You still have money on your balance
An account with a balance can't be deleted either, and the money isn't sent out automatically. Withdraw it first — see How to Withdraw Your Earnings.
Until it's no channels and a zero balance, deletion won't go through however many times you try.
The confirmation code
Once nothing is blocking it, we email you a code to confirm the deletion. If it doesn't arrive, check spam, and wait a moment before asking for another — there's a short pause between requests.
Before you go through with it
Deletion is permanent. Your posts go, your email and name are removed, and signing up again with the same address gives you a new empty account, not this one back. See Deleting Your Account.
