Donations are the simplest way to support someone here: no subscription to think about, no minimum commitment — just a thank you in the amount you choose.
Send a donation
Click Thank you! on a profile, a post or a channel. A Donation window opens and shows who you're supporting.
Choose One-time or Monthly. Monthly is selected by default, so switch to One-time if you want to give just once.
Pick an amount — $5, $10, $15 or $20 for a one-time donation, $10, $15, $20 or $25 for a monthly one — or type your own in the field below.
Add a Message to recipient if you'd like. It reaches them together with the donation.
Click Donate to confirm.
On the One-time tab there's also a Make it monthly checkbox — tick it and the same amount will repeat every month.
Monthly donations are subscriptions
A monthly donation keeps charging you until you stop it. You'll find it in Settings → Subscriptions, alongside your channel subscriptions, and you can cancel it there at any time. See Managing Your Subscriptions.
Payments come from your Sociala balance first, and from your card for anything it doesn't cover.
If you're the one being supported
Donations are off until you turn them on. There's a Donations switch in your profile settings and another in each channel's settings, so you can decide where people can thank you.
