To open your conversations, click the message icon in the top bar.
Starting a chat
The + above the chat list opens New message with the people you can write to — start typing a name to narrow it down.
You can also open someone's profile and click the chat icon there, or find them in Connections in the side menu.
If you're not connected with the person, your message lands in their Requests rather than their chats — and if they've set a price for incoming messages, you'll be asked to pay it first. See How Chats Work on Sociala.
Finding an old conversation
Use the search above the chat list — it looks across all your tabs at once.
Managing a conversation
The three dots in the top right of an open chat give you:
Report — tell us about a conversation that breaks the rules.
Block — stop the person writing to you.
Delete chat — remove it from your list. See How to Delete a Chat, and note that deleting isn't the same as blocking.
Your chat settings
The gear above the chat list opens Chat settings, where you set what people pay to reach you if you aren't connected — from $2 to $100. The same screen breaks down the fees, so you can see what actually arrives before you pick a number.
