Connecting your calendar means Sociala knows when you're already busy, and your bookings land where you actually look.
Connecting it
Open Widget settings → Calendar and choose Google or Outlook. Authorising takes one click — there's nothing to copy across.
If your account has a single calendar, we use it. If you keep several, you choose which ones to read your busy time from and which to write meetings into; it can be more than one of each. Birthday calendars are always ignored.
One calendar connection covers all your calls — a different calendar per call isn't supported.
Apple Calendar isn't available on the web.
You don't have to connect one
Without a calendar, slots are worked out purely from the schedule you set on Sociala. Every meeting still appears in your Sociala calendar — you just won't have your outside commitments taken into account, so watch for clashes.
How the sync works
A booking creates the event in both calendars; a cancellation removes it from both.
Busy time in your external calendar is subtracted from your free slots automatically.
Events appear as Sociala — [call name], with who you're meeting, a link to their profile and a link to the meeting in the description.
Sociala is the one in charge
Cancel and manage meetings in Sociala, not in Google or Outlook. Changes you make to the event outside Sociala don't come back to us — delete it there and the booking is still live, with your client still expecting you.
You also won't get an accept-or-decline invitation for your own meetings: the event simply appears, and we email you separately.
Clients get a calendar invitation of their own when they book, plus an email with an Add to calendar button.
If you disconnect Google Calendar
Disconnecting stops Sociala from accessing your calendar, and Calendar data we no longer need is deleted or de-identified. It does not automatically remove events Sociala already created in your calendar — they stay there until you delete them yourself.
