Tips for Creating a Strong Password

Updated over 2 weeks ago

A strong password is key to protecting your online accounts. Follow these best practices to create a secure password:

  • Use a Long Password: Aim for a password that's at least 12 characters long. Longer passwords are harder to crack.

  • Mix Different Characters: Include a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (e.g., !, @, #, $). This variety makes your password more complex.

  • Avoid Common Words and Phrases: Don’t use easily guessable words or phrases, such as “password,” “123456,” or “qwerty.” Also, avoid using personal information like names or birthdays.

  • Avoid Reusing Passwords: Don’t use the same password for multiple accounts. Each account should have its own unique password to limit the impact if one account is compromised.
